Frequently asked questions
Where is my AquaLog data stored?
Your water tests, maintenance, expenses, notes, and settings are stored locally on your device. AquaLog does not require an account or send this history to the developer.
How do I export my history?
Open Settings and choose Export CSV for a spreadsheet-compatible file. On iPad, Back Up Everything creates a complete AquaLog backup that you can restore later.
Does AquaLog sync between devices?
Not in version 1.0. AquaLog is intentionally local and does not include cloud sync or an account.
Which water readings can I track?
AquaLog supports pH, free chlorine, alkalinity, temperature, total chlorine, total hardness, cyanuric acid, and bromine. The first four are enabled by default. You can turn on the others in Settings.
Does AquaLog calculate chemical doses?
Yes. Open the Dashboard and choose Dose. Select the reading and product, then enter the current and target values. AquaLog uses your saved pool volume to estimate an amount. Start with about half, circulate, retest, and follow the product label.
What does the test strip scanner do?
The beta scanner samples the pads in a test strip photo on your device and fills the matching readings. Check and edit every result before saving. The photo is not uploaded by AquaLog.
Does weather share my location?
Weather is optional and off by default. When enabled, AquaLog sends rounded coordinates or a city search to Open-Meteo to fetch the forecast. Read the Privacy Policy for details.
What devices are supported?
AquaLog supports iPhone and iPad running iOS or iPadOS 17 or later.
